About the role 

We’re Superscript, an Insurtech on a mission to make business insurance as dynamic and adaptable as the companies we serve. As a Fullstack Engineer at Superscript, you'll be a key part of our Tech team, working on our custom-built policy quote management system which interacts with multiple aspects of the business.

You’ll be a productive member of the team, dependably solving problems and executing tasks, while also guiding more junior engineers. Within the Tech team, we’re enthusiastic about teaching, learning from each other, and solving complex problems. If you enjoy architecting scalable systems, mentoring others, and working at the intersection of technology and business impact, this is for you.

What you'll get up to: 

• Evolve our bespoke policy administration and billing platform, a critical piece of our platform
  
• Collaborate with your squad to deliver high-quality solutions
  
• Build scalable backend services mainly using PHP and Laravel
  
• Champion BDD/DDD & OOP principles, ensuring our system design is robust and forward-thinking
  
• Advocate for clean code and elevate best practices within the team
  
• Pairing with other engineers to solve problems (we use Tuple)
  
• Contribute to sprint goals and deliverables
  
• Work closely with product and design to shape engineering-driven solutions
  
• Contribute in technical discussions and architectural decisions
  
• Share your knowledge and key learnings with others 

About you:

• A backend-first fullstack engineer (PHP, Laravel, Livewire, Vue.js)
  
• Solid understanding of BDD/DDD and writing clean, maintainable, testable code
  
• Experienced with scalable architecture, APIs and cloud-based platforms
  
• Can break down complex problems and communicate them clearly to non-technical audiences
  
• Able to make technical decisions whilst explaining business impact
  
• Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team
  
• Passionate about lifelong learning and engineering excellence
